Week 14: Hilliard Davidson shuts down Colerain
Staff on Nov 26th 2006
Final Score: Hilliard Davidson 10, Cincinnati Colerain 6

Hilliard Davidson advances to Canton, by beating Cincinnati Colerain at Welcome Stadium in Dayton Ohio. Led by a defense that hasn’t given up much all season, and a tough pound it out offense Hilliard Davidson was able to control Colerain’s triple-option attack. By slowing the game down and allowing Colerain’s offense limited opportunities the Wildcats were able to do what they do best, and that is to play tough hard-nose defense and run the football. This was a tough physical game, a situation that the Wildcats thrive in; running back Bo Delande scored the games only touchdown on a 4 yard run. Neither team was able to run the ball effectively, or throw it either. The defenses are what got both teams to the State semifinals, and that’s exactly what the fans on both sides got to witness. Colerain was only able to muster 2 field goals, on two drives deep into Davidson’s territory.
Hilliard Davidson is (14-0) and will play the Mentor Cardinals (13-1) in the State final next Saturday at the Canton Fawcett Stadium.
