Westerville South struggled in the 1st quarter of the game Friday night, turning theRocco Pentello
ball over twice resulting into two Newark touchdowns. Down 14 points, on wet field, and on the road, Westerville South’s Rocco Pentello showed why he is the leading candidate for player of the year in Central Ohio.

Westerville South went on to score 30 unanswered points. Rocco completed 10 of 18 passes for 172 yards for 3 TDs, and rushed for 129 yards and 2 more TDs.

Westerville South’s Ryan Clark rushed for 109 yards.

Newark’s Kendall Stinson rushed for 179 yards on 24 carries.

Newark plays Hilliard Darby, and Westerville South plays Mount Vernon next week.
